🏆 The original Jurado Cup is the premier sports competition held annually at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City, Philippines, involving the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines (CCAFP).

🎖️ Origin & Namesake
     Named after Captain Enrique L. Jurado, graduate of the United States Naval Academy class of 1934, a decorated WWII officer of the Philippine Army’s Offshore Patrol. Jurado was known for his leadership, bravery, and dedication to military service and physical excellence. PMA honored him by naming their gymnasium Jurado Hall in 1953. He is the first Master of the Sword as Head, Department of Physical Education of the Philippine Military Academy in 1938.
🏅 Purpose & Format
     The Jurado Cup is awarded to the overall champion company during PMA’s intramural sports week.
     Cadet companies compete in a wide range of sports including: Athletics, football, volleyball, basketball Martial arts like arnis, wushu, and taekwondo Swimming, aquathlon, cross-country, and more. It’s a celebration of camaraderie, physical fitness, and competitive spirit among cadets.
🌍 International Alumni Edition
     The Jurado Cup International is a biennial event hosted in the United States by various PMA chapters. The original biennial started in 2004 between the East Coast Chapter and the North East Group.
     It brings together former cadets and their families from North America and other countries around the globe for sports, social events, and fellowship.
     Events include golf, bowling, karaoke contests, and traditional CCAFP activities like Hop and boodlefight.
     It’s more than just a trophy—it’s a symbol of camaraderie, tradition, and excellence within the PMA community.
